Recantina is an indigenous grape variety from Montello, much loved by the Venetian nobility towards the end of the 1800s and then mysteriously disappeared. Rediscovered only in recent times, it is a surprising wine, with intoxicating aromas and very versatile even in food pairings.
For us it represents the ultimate expression of the territory, a wine that is a pleasure to discover year after year.
It is called Augusto, a tribute to Mr. Giusti's father.
Sensory profile
The color is intense and brilliant ruby red with excellent clarity. On the nose it has an intense aroma with fruity notes of red plum and blackcurrant (cassis) and floral notes of sweet violet and cyclamen. Musk and a mineral note reminiscent of freshly plowed soil are also present.
On the palate it is soft and velvety, with sweet tannins and a pleasantly acidic finish.
Pairings
Wine suitable for red meats and game, especially feathered game. Also excellent with duck breast, roast guinea fowl and medium-aged cheeses. Surprising with large fish.
Serving temperature
16 – 18 °C
